Las Vegas- Luke Selliken captured the Tag Jr. Pro Tour National Championship with his third place finish in the final on SuperSunday at the 16th anual Skuza Super Nationals. Canadian Lance Stroll picked up the win with junior sensation George Russell Jr second. Finishing fourth and fifth behind newly crowned champ Selliken were Dalton Saergent and Colton Herta. Herta worked his way up from the 31st starting spot.
Boise,Idaho’s Sting Ray Robb, piloted his Red Apple Racing machine to an 18th place finish in this mornings Cadet final, scoring him a fouth place finish over all in Pro Tour points…Robb needed to make up a 102 points to capture the final podium spot, but was ten points shy, making up 92 of the needed 102….none the less, awesome showing by the ten year old karting sensation.
It looked as though Davey Manthei Jr. might have a shot at things after switching from his Arrow Chassis over to a new RPG Kosmic…after the switch,Manthei was back to looking like his old self, with solid runs all weekend long, until a mishap forced him into the LCQ that he won running away, and started 35th in the final.
Other fine NW performance notables were Steve Perdue in S4, Scott Hargrove & Remo Ruscitti in S2 & Tag Sr, Adam Isman in Tag Sr. Dalton Egger had tough first time going upside down in one of the scariest moments of the weekend…But his Pure Karting team prepared Eggers back-up machine, only to have an incident in the opening laps of supersundays S2 final, break the end of his axle clear off ending the PARC drivers tough weekend.
It was an awesome showing for the NW in what is without a doubt the biggest and finest event in the country….I would like to give a HUGE shout of thanks to PARC owner Chris Egger for making it possible for me to attend this years event, and to Larry Robb the place for me to lay my head (in fine style)…Thanks guys for helping me attain my dream.
Congrats to each and every team that participated in this event…just being here and competing is feat in itself….win, lose, or draw…PSAS is back on the road Monday am….and will be calling the action in round number two of the UAS indoor speedway series in Salem, Or next weekend….
